Lions, leopards and rhinos also inhabit Akagera, although sightings depend entirely on natural animal movement.

Begin the day early and head into the park for an extended Akagera wildlife safari.

Your guide will also search suitable areas for predators and rhinos. As with all genuine wildlife experiences, sightings of particular animals cannot be guaranteed.

After an early breakfast, transfer to the designated park briefing area for your mountain gorilla trekking in Rwanda experience.

Professional rangers explain trekking procedures before allocating visitors to habituated gorilla families. Enter the forest with your guides and trackers and begin following signs of your assigned family.

The route varies according to the gorillas’ location and may involve thick vegetation, muddy ground and steep volcanic slopes.

Once the gorillas are located, observe them according to current park regulations. Watch their natural behaviour as they feed, rest and interact within their forest environment.
